KSHEENAVRUTTERABHIJAATSYEVA MANERGRAHITRUGRAHANAGRAHYESHU TATSATHATADANJANATASAMAAPATTIH
KSHEENA = WEAK; VRUTTIHI = TENDENCIES; ABHIJAATASYA = OF APPEARANCE; EVA=LIKE; MANIHI = CRYSTAL, DIAMOND; GRAHEETRU = PERCEIVER, TAKER; GRAHANA = PERCEIVING, TAKING; GRAAHYESHU =  PERCEIVED; TATSTHAH = RESTING ON IT; TAT ANJANATAA = ITS COLOR; SAMAAPATTIH = SEEING SAMENESS, SAME TURN OUT, MEETING, ENCOUNTERING;
With weak tendencies of the mind, there is a state of Samaapattih, of appearance of sameness of the perceiver, perceiving and the perceived like a crystal of the color of the object it is resting on.
When mind becomes clear of the tendencies, the self, the seer, the seeing mind and the seen become the same. The clear mind (without contents) sees the true self in all that is perceived, this state is Samaapatti.
In the total thoughtless state of mind, there is no veil of mental tendencies covering the self and there is a sameness of the SEER, the SEEN and the SEEING. It is a state when there is oneness. Realizing that there only one entity and the whole universe is one without any separation.

TATRA SHABDAARTHADNYANAVIKALPAIH SANKEERNA SAVITARKA SAMAPATTIH
TATRA = THERE; SHABDA = WORD; ARTHA = MEANING; DNYANA = KNOWLEDGE; VIKALPAIH = UNCERTAINTY, DEBATE; SANKEERNAA = CONFUSED; SAVITARKA=DEBATABLE; SAMAAPATTI = DEEP MEDITATIVE STATE
There is Savitarka Samaapatti through opposing arguments out of confusion due to the uncertainty about the knowledge of meanings of words.
When there is uncertainty about the knowledge of correct meaning of words and one has to go through opposing arguments to experience Samaapatti, it is called Savitarka Samaapatti.

SMRUTIPARISHUDDHAU SVAROOPASHOONYA EVA ARTHA MATRA NIRBHAASAA NIRVITARKA
SMRUTI=MEMORIES; PARISHUDDHAU=COMPLETE PURIFICATION; EVA = ALSO; ARTHA = MEANING; MATRA = ONLY; NIRBHAASAA = EVIDENT. NIRVITARKAA = UNDISPUTED; SAMAAPATTI = DEEP MEDITATIVE STATE
When mind is purified even of the memories, and a meaning of self is evident as formless only, that is Nirvitarka or Undisputed Samapattih.
When mind is without any beliefs, memories or impressions and there is no doubt left about the meaning of the Self, that is a state of Nirvitarka Samapatti .

ETAIH EVA SAVICHAARAA NIRVICHAARAA CHA SOOKSHMAVISHAYAA VYAAKHYAATAA
ETAIH = IN THIS WAY; EVA = ALSO; SAVICHAARAA = WITH CONTEMPLATION; NIRVICHAARAA = WITHOUT CONTEMPLATION; CHA = AND; SOOKSHMA = SUBTLE; VISHAYAA = SUBJECT MATTERS, OBJECTS; VYAAKHYAATAA = DEFINED
In this way, Samaapattis through contemplation on subtler subjects (Savichaara) and Nirvichaara (without any contemplation) are also defined.
Similarly the Samaapattis can also be attained either through concentrating on certain thoughts or without concentrating on any thoughts.

SOOKSHMA VISHAYATVAM CHA ALINGAPARYAVASAANAM
SOOKSHMA = SUBTLE; VISHAYATVAM = OF OJECTS, SUBJECT MATTERS; CHA = AND; ALINGA = UNMANIFESTED; PARYAVASAANAM = TRANSFORMATION, CHANGE
There is a  transformation of subtle objects into un-manifested.
The subtle subjects in mind such as thoughts and impressions are transformed into un-manifested seeds of creations. It means the contents of mind can still manifest experiences. In these kind of samaadhis there may be still possibility of thoughts that can be manifested into experiences.

TA EVA SABEEJAH SAMAADHI
TA = THOSE; EVA = INDEED; SABEEJAH = WITH SEED OF MANIFESTATION; SAMAADHI = A STATE OF DEEP MEDITATION;
Those indeed are states of deep meditations with seed of manifestation (Sabijah Samaadhih)
So this Samaadhi state is called Sabeejah Samaadhi or a deep meditation state with seeds of manifestation still remaining in mind.

NIRVICHARA VAISHAARADYE ADHYATMA PRASADAH
NIRVICHARA = NO THOUGHTS; VAISHAARADYE = THROUGH PROFEICIENCY; ADHYATMA = SPIRITUAL; PRASADAH = FULFILMENT
As one gains proficiency of deep meditative state (Samaadhi) without any contemplaton in mind, one achieves spiritual fulfilment.

RITAMBHARA TATRA PRADNYA
RITAMBHARA = TRUE; TATRA = THERE; PRADNYA = KNOWLEDGE
There lies true knowledge.
When in this Samaadhi state, the mind is without any content, there true knowledge is gained.

SHRUTA = HEARD; ANUMAAN = ANALYSIS; PRADNYA = KNOWLEDGE; ANYA = DIFFERENT, OTHER; VISHAYAA = SUBJECTS; VISHESHA=EXTRAORDINARY; ARTHATVAAT=FROM THE MEANING
The knowledge gained by hearing and analysis is different from this knowledge of extraordinary meaning.

TAJJA SANSKAARAH ANYASANSKAAR PRATIBANDHI
TAJJA = BORN OUT OF IT; SANSKAARAH = IMPRESSIONS; PRATIBANDHI = CONTROL, PREVENT; ANYA = OTHER
Impressions in mind born out of this (knowledge) prevent other impressions.
The impressions from this knowledge prevent other types of impressions which are due to lack of knowledge of true self.

TASYAAPI NIRODHE SARVANIRODHAAN NIRBEEJAH SAMAADHIH
TASYA = THEIR; NIRODHE = IN STOPPAGE; SARVANIRODHAAN = ALL STOPPAGE; NIRBEEJAH = FORMLESS; SAMAADHIH= STATE OF MEDITATION
On stoppage of even this, from all stoppage is the trans state without seed of manifestation.
This is the state of Samaadhi with stoppage of all impressions in mind that can manifest new experiences, new forms and new lives.
